Elizabeth Ceri Anne Salway arrived 01 October 2004 to Sarah and Ryan Salway.  She weighed in at 8lb 15oz and was 21 1/2 inches in length.
Proud and happy parents are Sarah Elizabeth and Ryan Paul Derek Salway.  She is their first child and was welcomed into a loving home.   She was named after her mother.  The middle name "Ceri" is pronounced Cari, but with this spelling means "Love".  Her third name, Anne, is spelled with the "e" at the ending just like Anne of Green Gables, as her mother is a student of literature as well as music!

We were able to visit Utah in November 2004 when Elizabeth was six weeks of age.  It was a wonderful experience and she is a precious and beautiful child.
The family lived in Idaho, and Grandma Jill was there able to attend the birth and enjoy her first grandchild so that really cut the sting enormously of our  not being able to see much of her yet!

Elizabeth is blessed with MANY aunts and uncles and lots of extended family to love her.  She is the first grandchild on the maternal side and will be very well looked after.  Step sisters and siblings  of Ryan traveled to visit her as well as Sarah's family throughout Utah.  Her cousin, Willow, was enraptured to have a real live baby doll in their midst!
Four Generation Photo
Aunt Emily
Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Great Aunts and Uncles, Grandparents and Great grandparents all came to admire and celebrate on her blessing day.
For many months all the contact I had with this little one were occasional photos to show her growth and some silly moments in her life.  It was and is wonderful knowing of the great supportive family that she has to love her even if we can't all be close.
The photo below made it clear just who Elizabeth takes after!  She looks just like her Grandma Jill!
First Stitches and Bandaid
As she became more and more "mobile" in her attempts to learn to crawl, Elizabeth decided first to fly!  She ended up getting her first stitches that day and all the grumpiness of the past week were gone as she grinned ear to ear showing off her new prize!

The photo below shows just who our little Elizabeth belongs to!  She looks just like her Grandma Jill and they seem to have bonded well.
Valentine's Day Gift
I think it's safe to say that Elizabeth won her daddy's heart from the start and is a definite hit with Ryan.  He currently affectionately refers to her as his little "Wizabee"
I love you Daddy!
A real bathtub! Splash!
Everything into the mouth
Our little lady has plenty of personality.  On Mothers' Day 2005, I was presented with a CD of photos from birth to present including a few video clips so that I was able to catch up on her growth and spend some time with her as well.  It was next to impossible to sort out only a few of these precious photos for display here.
The last week of April at the end of the college semester, Elizabeth and her parents moved to California for the summer to live with Aunt Teonei's family and seek summer employment.  She began to crawl and will probably soon be walking, (although in tickly grass is not her first choice).
The many faces and moods of our little charmer are evident.
Spending a few days getting acquanted was a real treat for Grandma Ruth and Grandpa Joe.
02 June 2005:  Update from her mommy -- "She has grown a lot.  She can say several "words" now, including  mama, dada, yaya, nana and rara.  She has also picked up growling, which is hilarious to witness.  And, she has taken several unaided steps and we are pretty sure she will be walking all by herself soon.  She has also learned to climb the stairs which makes life much more interesting than it used to be."

All this in only ONE MONTH since I last saw her! Grandma Jill must be going NUTS at the rapid changes taking place.  I know I am!  Looking forward to seeing her again in August when I go to help with Teonei's boys while she delivers their little brother.
